methods
The white house project uses many methods to help the community to know what we are all about. I feel the most effective and used method is having our voices heard. We are able to help the community understand what we are doing by promoting womens leadership with our voices, the media, social networking and certain events that are held in the community. having facebook and twitter has helped build our communities knowledg about WHP, the more members we have the more we will be recognized for what we are doing. There is no one way to do teach what we are doing. Being able to engage in it is probably the most effective method. Having more hands on work with WHP will give you a clearer idea of what it is. try to get involved as much as possible and visit our website. Thewhitehouseproject.org

Expectations with The white house project.
Working with the white house project, my two main expectations are for now are being able to learn more about what this organization is doing and being able to understand it more clearly. I know what the WHP does and what their main goals are I just have not yet grasped the idea of feminism since I have not played a huge roll in it. I hope to become more literate in it and be able to explain what we are doing clearly and thoroughly to people who are interested in knowing about it. My second expectation is to be able to get better at working with the social media part of it, as i do take a huge part in that with twitter and face book. I understand how to use the two but promoting the WHP through these networks is difficult as I have not engaged in it as much I as will be. Im just starting to get comfortable with postings and how Im actually suppose to promote the org. I do not think that these are unfounded, I have addressed these expectation in my head and am working on them as I go. I want this job to hep find work like this in the future. I want to be able to socially network WHP and help then get their name out to as many people possible.

Women
I don't really understand the prompt : what women and mens movements do you identify with?and why? I did some research about women and mens movements. I found one called Menininst this is a global organization that Believe in and support the Feminist principles of womans political, social , and economic equality. I have never been a huge feminist nor had I ever sided with either gender, however I am comfortable and confident with my gender. I have never had any animosity towards people who are gay or lesbian. I have always been considerate of other peoples choices, I also am friends with a significant amount of people who's choose a different sex than what they would usually be intended. I don't really have a reason why I choose this movement. As I researched I found a lot of one sided organizations that had a lot of hate letters and opinions that were harsh and very close minded to the other gender. After reading more about this movement I really appreciated what the men had to say and why they choose this. It was very thoughtful and I think a lot of women who are strong feminist would really enjoy reading about this. This impacted me in a way that I haunt really felt before. Taking this class has really helped me notice little things about the way people communicate. Before this blog prompt I would have never considered researching this after a little research Iv really come to understand how important this topic is to alot of people. I feel like I can relate to others in more opened ways now , I also think this is a great topic to look more into seeings that the orginization I am working with, the white house project , has alot do with this concern and community.

EPIC AWARDS
This is a picture of Marine Wilson who is the founder of the white house project and Meryl Streep at the EPIC awards. This is a fundraiser that they put on every year in april that awards and acknowledges women leaders and other innovaters who bring positive images to womens leadership.
The white house project
Today I went to meet with my organization. They were all very friendly to me. she had me do alot of communications work. I had to go on face book and invite all my friends and also she had me twitter and follow all the woman candidates from the last election. I also had to make a page all about the epic awards and post pictures from all the events in that last five years. The work seemed pretty easy, i will probably be doing more hands on work with getting their name out and i will be attending events that work with womens leadership. I really liked it and am super excited to see what comes next.

My hockey dream
When I was about 7 years of age I decided that i wanted to play hockey. Playing hockey to me was a big deal because all my life I had grown watching my brother play. He was one of the best players and he was a goalie. I remember confronting my parents about it, my dad was into the idea but my mom was that sure about it. She told me that ladies don't play hockey. When she told me that, it really stuck with me. After some time went by for her to think about it she decided that if I wanted to play, I should be able to do what i want, if it makes me happy. After i started playing I always kept in mind what she said to me that day, and to prove to her that she was wrong I tried my best to be the greatest player on the team and balanced being a lady at the same time. Its been about fifteen years since I started playing. As I got older playing more of my friends joined and it turned out that all the girls I played with were the prettiest and most lady like girls I have known. We all got really good at hockey and even won states 3 years in a row. I ended up being captain one year and scored the most goals on my team. What my mother mother said to me that day was wrong and I think I really proved her wrong. This just goes to show that being a lady isn't about the things you physically can to, its about how you carry yourself as you do it.

A Snowy Day
Today I woke up, not eager to come to school today due to the cold weather and icy roads I decided its probably a good idea I don't miss class. As I dressed myself I tried to keep in mind that it is practically negative degrees outside and that dressing warmer than usual is probably best. I picked out all of the most unattractive clothes in my closet not even considering how I would look, just wanted to be warm. I arrived on campus today in a rush to get back indoors from my parked car, however I was shocked to see how many people dont dress for cold weather. It was mostly girls that I was noticing. It was almost like they didn't even look out there window to see what the weather was like. I don't have any judgments on these people, but it seemed like this was somthing that these girls do to get some odd amount of negative attention, and they know it. Its okay that our campus is filled with a bunch of crazies and thats what i like about this school, but honestly the least they could do before they leave the house on a cold day is put some dang clothes on.
